365 Days of Gratitude in 2014

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited to be involved with Mini Album Scraps "365 Days of Gratitude in 2014" junk journal swap.  I had so much fun making this mini and look forward to receiving someone else's creation back.  My album was mailed in today so I should receive a gratitude journal back in a couple of weeks.

Here is a video of my album.  Please be kind this is my first video and I know it's pretty lousy, but we all have a learning curve.

Here's a photo of the cover.

Blessing to all,

Shabby Chic Swap

I know I keep saying that I am going to keep up with my postings but life is constantly in the way.  I am a private music teacher but once a year in the fall I work for a children's musical theater company.  I am the vocal coach and we have been working on The Wizard of Oz production since the end of August.  (By the way the show opens tonight!)  Anyway, if that is not busy enough I also have fall allergies, it appears, and that has triggered my asthma this fall and so I have been terribly sick since the first week of September.  Long story short (right!) I haven't been able to post.

I have manged to join a swap, for the first time, and make two cards. Mini Album Scraps runs great swaps on all sorts of categories.  I joined the cards swap for September and the theme was Vintage or Shabby Chic cards.  I have never made this style of card before so I was really intrigued.  Let me tell you it was so much fun...and challenging. Here are the cards I made.

I had so much fun and after sending my cards to the leader I got two gorgeous cards back!  I have always wanted to participate in a swap and I'm so glad I did.  I loved it so much I joined another swap.  This time it is in the junk journal category. The theme is 365 days to be grateful for 2014.

I recommend checking out Mini Album Scraps and join in the fun!

Blessing to all!

Junk Journal

Hi All,
I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post.  I have been super busy with my new grandson and several big crafting projects.  I'm starting a new business doing crafting parties at my home and doing crafting birthday parties for kids.  I've been making a lot of samples, started a Facebook page, and done some marketing research.

Anyway, I thought I would share one of my projects with you.  It is a Junk Journal.  I'm really happy with how it has turned out and will be selling them for $25.00.  For those of you who don't know a junk journal is a mini scrapbook/memory journal.  You can put pictures in it, journal memories, save movie ticket stubs or any number of things that mean something to you.  I have a junk journal and really have enjoyed it over the years. It doesn't have to be neat and beautified either.  You can just glue stuff in, or use washi tape and tape your stuff in it any old which way your heart desires!

Check it out:

The paper I got last year at Walmart and it is from Colorbok, I can't remember the name.  Used some stamps from Hero Arts and stickers from my stash.  The cover is from Zutter and I used my bind-it-all for the binding.  It is so much cuter in person than the pictures show.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a grateful day,
Anita aka Nit

With Joyful Gratitude

Hi Everybody,

Well here in MA it looks like spring is FINALLY try to show itself.  It is a beautiful sunny day and the crocus' are up and the daffodils are preparing to bloom.  I love, love, love spring.  It reminds me of Jesus' resurrection.

So onto today's card.  I am having a blast with digi stamps lately.  And this cutie patootie is from Tiddly Inks.  The stamp is called Celebrate Joyfully.  Isn't she darling?  The paper is from MME 6x6 pad called Sunny Side.  I love the colors and design of this paper.  The red is a card stock from the Paper Company I got at Michaels (I think!).

These are close ups of the card.

And the inside.  This stamp is from the CardzTV stamp set Think Spring.

And here are the copic markers I used to color the girl.  Lovin' my copics lately too!

You are all going to crack up, this digi stamp is not a digi stamp at all.  It is from Tiddly Inks but it is one of the clear stamps sets I bought when I was purchasing other digi stamps.  Duh! I discovered my error when I tried to determine where the sentiment stamp on the front of the card was from.  It is from the Celebrate Joyfully clear stamp set.   Is this happening because I'm a new grandmother?  Does one loose their minds when that child is born?  Anyway, digi or clear stamps I just love these Tiddly Ink stamps.

Thanks for checking me out and please consider joining my blog and leaving a comment.  We all love the encouragement.

God bless and have a grateful day,
Anita aka Nit

New Blog Button

Testing 1-2-3!

Hi Everybody,

I've been working on designing a new blog header and a blog button.  I love how they both came out but can't figure out the url code that will link the button back to my blog.  Once I figure that out I have to get the grab button code put together.  This isn't as easy as I thought it would be, but I've sure have fun designing the button and my new blog header.  What do you think?

Baby Shower Mini Album

Hi Everybody,
Today I'd like to let you all know that I am in seventh heaven.  I have been spending the week with my daughter and new grandson, Mason.  He is just the cutest little baby (if I do say so myself) and has a great temperament.   I couldn't help but be the boasting grandma and share a picture.  So hheerree''ss Mason!

He's 13 days old and already trying to ham it up!

So on to today's project.  I made a mini album of the photos from my daughter Ashley's baby shower.  I didn't get pictures of everything because I'm not that adept at posting and remembering to take pictures of the process.  Soooo..... practice will make perfect.  The pictures aren't that great but I thought I'd try and share what I've got.

All papers are from DCWV's Baby Boy paper collection.  The binding is a piece of grunge paper that I painted with acrylic paints then distressed with TH distress inks.

The inside cover (that's my daughter and son-in-law) and the right side is the baby shower invitation attached to a flap piece that opens up.  (You'll see it in the next picture).  The inside holds places for more pictures.  The over all mini album is made of a craft paper bag that I got at Michael's.  I saw a great video series at My Sisters Scrapper on making a vertical paper bag mini album.  Ginger is an awesome teacher and makes the project so easy to create.  Thanks Ginger for all your videos!

Here is a photo of  the inside of the flap.

Each page also has a tag that pulls out at the top.  I punched a circle and stamped a baby face from a Peachy Keen stamp set.

Now this is the very back of the book which shows the waterfall photo mats I created.  There are 8 pages holding 16 photos approximately 3x3 inches.  On the left shows a pocket I made that holds a tag.  There are a total of 6 pages which have a flap that opens, a pocket that holds a tag, and a large tag that slides out from the top.  I can tell you that this mini album holds a TON of pictures.

My daughter loved it!  I'll be starting another album when I get home of all my grandson's pictures.  We can't stop snapping pictures.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by and I'd love it if you think about following me and leaving comments.  Its such an encouragement.

God bless and have a grateful day,
Anita aka Nit

Easter Blessings

Hi Everybody,

I hope everyone is enjoying the start of the weekend.  I know I am. I've been crafting all night.  I've really made a dent on my Easter cards.  I'll be leaving Sunday to go to my daughter's to spend the week with her and my new grandson so I knew I would need to get my cards finished.  I am SO, did I say, "SO" excited to see my grandson.  It has been almost a week since I visited them in the hospital.  Oh, how I hate to work!  Luckily, I am able to take next week off to get my fill of him, oh, yes, and my daughter too!  :-)

Before I share one of my cards I wanted to share an Easter poem I wrote for this year.  I wanted to convey my thoughts on Easter and my hope for all of you.

Easter Isn't...
Easter isn't about colored Eggs
Easter isn't about Flowers
Easter isn't about Ham
And Easter definitely isn't about the Easter Bunny
Easter is about Jesus!

It is about Him dying on a cross for Our sin
It is about Him Rising on the Third Day
It is about the Empty Tomb and
It is about Hope
It is about Your future
It is about a Decision

God made the way for you
Will You make the way for Him?
Choose Life, Choose Jesus

Baby Mason Arrived!!

Hi Everybody,

I'm so excited to announce that my new grandson has finally arrived!  Mason James came into the world on Friday March 15 @ 6:36 pm.  Weighing in at 8.2 lbs.  Even more exciting I got to help deliver him and see him enter this world.  I thought delivering my own children was the ultimate experience but this was incredible.  The first sign of him we got was of his enormous head of hair.  Phew!  I bought him a brush and comb already.  No wonder my daughter had so much heartburn!

As I went through this experience I was reminded of Psalm 139: 13-16 which says:

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be."

It is comforting to know that God knew Mason from before time and will have his hand on his life forever.

The new family arrived home today and are enjoying that first day.  Of course, bedtime will be a little nerve wracking but they'll get through it, with God's help.  Praying for peace and sleep!  :-)

God bless you all and don't forget to have a grateful day,

Anita aka Nit
