My Ramblings

I thought I would tell you all what has been going on with me.  First, I am still wrestling with the vertigo but doing so much better.  Just in time for an asthmatic chest cold!  My physical therapist says it is part of the virus that is causing the vertigo.  (I'm doing PT for the vertigo)

Anyway, in the midst of all this I am the vocal coach for a children's theatre company, we are doing the musical "Alice in Wonderland.". I'm trying to teach the kids the music with a voice that sounds like a frog and lungs that are sucking air.  :-). Ya gotta laugh or you'll cry.  Somehow it is working cause the kids are doing great!

If that's not enough my mom ended up in the hospital and my sister just had surgery Monday for a total knee replacement.  So this is the long explanation for why I haven't crafted.

Can you tell I'm heading for the cliff?  Not really, the Lord has been so good to me through out it all. I'm sleeping like a baby and am blessed with a very supportive husband.  And...have I mentioned that I am going to be a grandma? My daughter Ashley is pregnant with my first grandchild.  I am sssssooooo excited!!

So I'm not really complaining just rambling.  I'm hoping by the end of the week I can get into my craft room.  I have so many things I want to make and share with you!  In the meantime...

God bless and have a grateful day,

Anita aka Nit

Mom's Birthday Card

Tomorrow is my mother's 89th birthday and in celebration of I made this card:

My mother has a great sense of humor and will LOVE this card.  She can really enjoy a good laugh, even at herself.  It is one of her better qualities that I have inherited.

Anyway, the old lady and sentiment stamps are from Art Impressions.  I've had these stamps FOREVER and I'm not sure I've ever used them before.  For the sentiment I taped off a portion of the stamp to only ink a portion for the front of the card.  I then taped off the opposite side to stamp on the inside.  This was a great tip I learned from Pam at Simply Pam's Creations.

So what are your moms like?  Would they love this card?

God bless and have a grateful day,

Vertigo Is No Fun!!

Hi Everyone,

Since my last post I have been battling vertigo.  What a horror!!  It seems I have a crystal in my ear that has dislodged from its proper position and is flouting around willy nilly in my ear.  every once in awhile it goes where it is not supposed to and bam! The world starts spinning.  I mean spinning is really an under statement.  You can't find up or down.  Well, I finally saw the doctor today and I'll be starting PT next week to "readjust" the crystal.  Can't be soon enough.

Has anyone else had or heard of this?

Well, I'M at least grateful that there is medicine to help with the symptoms and PT to fix the problem.  Gratitude is one of the greatest healing gifts God gave us.  A grateful heart can get through anything. Believe me I know.

Until next time--God bless and have a grateful day.

A Beautiful Day!

Boy, I'm really in a creative groove.  I can't believe I've done a post the last three days.  It really helps to have linky parties and challenges.  Today I'm entering this card over at CardzTV.  It is Challenge #115 "Color Play."  The rules were you could only use red, yellow or blue with white and black as accents.

For the dress I used the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge and the overalls are actually ski pants from the Everyday Paper Doll cartridge.  I really enjoyed working with these colors.

Hope you all have a great day and don't forget to head over to Mary's blog to see the other designs and while your add it why don't you play along!!

God bless and have a grateful day.

Medallion Necklace

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so happy to be up and about today.  The last two days I have struggled with vertigo.  If you've never had vertigo you just won't understand but it is debilitating.  The world just spins around you and you can't figure out where up or down is.  This is the second time in 10 months that I've had this happen.  I hope it isn't going to be a chronic problem.  I'll be emailing my PCP today to see what more she wants me to do, if anything.

But enough of that...  Today is the weekly Link Up Party over at the Pink Cricut blog (also linked up with Someday I'll Learn's Teach Me Tuesday).  I've decided this week to share one of my other passions and that is jewelry making.  Below are a few pictures of some of my recent designs.  I really find this craft relaxing.  My designs are usually pretty simple since I need instant gratification and can't wait to create something more complicated.

When you make your own jewelry you get just what you want at a fraction of the cost.  I usually make jewelry after shopping for clothes.  I need to match things up, yes, I'm one of those matchy matchy people.  My friend tells me matching is not in fashion but I don't care.  I'm lucky I can get dressed in the morning at all!!  If I don't match I'll have to go about naked.  Fashion forward is not my middle name.  (By the way I'm a huge fan of Project Runway.  I'm hoping some of that good stuff will rub off!)

Check out Sarah's Pink Cricut blog to see all the other wonderful designs.

And don't forget, I love comments and followers.  It helps keep my mojo going.

Have a grateful day and God bless!

Boo To You!

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited about this cute little Halloween treat box I made.  Isn't that ghost simply adorable?  I used the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge.  He is found on page 39 and I cut him at 3 inches.  The Halloween papers are from Heidi Grace. I used the Martha Stewart scoring mat to make the box.  I'm a teacher so I'll be making a ton of these to give to my students.

I am linking this to the Pink CricutCardz TV and  Craft Junkie Too blogs.  I really enjoy link up parties, you get to see so much talent and creativity.

Thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate your taking the time to come check about my blog.  Pppsssttt!  I wouldn't mind a few comments or followers either.  I'll take all the encouragement I can get.

God bless and have a grateful day,
Anita (aka Nit)

What I've Been Doing...

Hi Everybody,

Well it has been awhile since my last post and I have missed it.  Barry and I went on vacation for two weeks right after the 4th of July and had a blast.  My family has a cottage near the ocean and we had a blast.  I brought half of my craft room with me and did a lot of crafting.  The photos below show you a few of my projects.

The first is my Smash book.  I have wanted to make one of these for awhile and boy did I have fun making it.  I used a paper collection from Close to My Heart called, "Mayberry."  I just love their papers.  The collection includes stickers too.  This first photo is the front cover.  I hadn't bound it yet because I didn't have the right o-rings from Zutter but I couldn't wait to show you.

I'll be linking these projects over at the Pink Cricket and CraftJunkieToo's blogs.  Check these awesome ladies out Sarah and Tracy are very talented and will give you so many ideas.

These photos are some of the inside pages.  I created some pockets as I went along to tuck in things that won't fit on the page.

The next photos are of a Password Logbook I made for my daughter.  I got the idea from something that I picked up a Big Lots!  The letters of her name are Thickers stickers that I dyed to the color of the paper.  Boy that was easy.  I used chalk inks.  She can use this to keep track of all her internet info.

Well there's even more but I'll save them for another post.  So glad to be back!  Thanks for all your support and encouragement.  It means so much.

God bless and have a grateful day!

Happy Tails to You!

Hi Everybody,

For today's card I used cricut cartridge "Everyday Paper Dolls" for the dog. It is found on page 74.  The face is the stamp set "Happy-go-lucky Dog Face Assortment" from Peachy Keen Stamps.  The card base is an A2 kraft Card/Envelope pack from Jillibean.  The animal paper if from BasicGrey's 6x6 pad Max & Whiskers.  Love this paper.  I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, yeah, I'm a fan.  The sentiment came from Cardz TV stamp set "Barks and Bones."  Love Mary's stamps!!  So I hope you enjoy and I'll be posting this card over at the Pink Cricut's blog for her Link Up Tuesday.

Thanks ahead for all your comments and feel free to join my blog.  It is so encouraging to have some followers.

Gratefully yours,  Anita (aka Nit)

Pinwheel Wreath

Good day to All,

I am so excited to show you my pinwheel wreath that I made for summer.  I love it!  The colors are so bright and cheerful.  I created several homemade flowers, stamped a scripture verse, and added some buttons.  The little statue in the center is resting on the styrafome wreath base, which, I had painted yellow.  It's hanging in my front foyer and has gotten rave reviews.

I'm linking this up to the Pink Cricut blog's Link Up Tuesday.  You can get to Sarah's blog here:  http://www.pinkcricut.com/.

Don't hesitate to leave me comments.  I really appreciate them.

Have a blessed day everyone and don't forget to be grateful!!

Love ya, Anita

Washi tape

Hi all,

Wanted to share two cards I made with my homemade washi tape. I am so cheap I didn't want to spend the money on tapes that wouldn't necessarily go with my papers. So...I made my own. Found several videos on you tube and boy is it easy. Most papers were from my scraps (which I am trying to use up).   Enjoy!!

Wanted to share the Mother's Day card I made for my mother-in-law.  I just love it.  I don't have any info on it.  It's been so long since I've posted I wanted to make sure I still remembered how do post.  Look for more soon...promise!!

Where have I been?

Well, it has been ages and ages since I last posted on my blog. Life has been crazy busy since the first of the year. I am self-employed and the last 4 years has been pretty lean. Anyway, in answer to pray God has given me an abundance of business. Careful what you pray for you just might get it. Crafting and blogging has taken a temporary backseat. I hope now to get back on track, my sanity needs it. All work and no play makes ME pretty crazy! So be looking for some projects real soon. God bless all, Anita

"Right At Home Scrapbooking" Haul

Hi Everybody!  Well it's Tuesday and I've been trying to upload this video since Sunday.  I am sssoooo not a techie type.  But, I finally succeeded and am so excited to show you my first haul video.  My local scrapbooking store had a "yard sale" this past weekend and I made out like a bandit.  I couldn't help but share my good fortune with you and show you some neat products.  Be on the look-out for future videos using some of these great products.

Enjoy!  Nitty

Crazy In Love

Hello Everyone!
Here's a couple of Valentine's Day cards I made using papers from the Colorbok collection Sweet Memories I got at Walmart.  I love these papers!  They are so colorful and cute.  Lots of glitter and bright colors for Valentine's Day.  This collection has stickers and die-cuts also.  The Crazy in Love chipboard sentiment is from my stash that I've had forever.  I can't remember where I got it, sorry!  That card is going to be for my "honey."

Anyway, I used a 1 3/4" square punch for the larger card cutting out different papers in a 9 square quilt design.  I used a 1 3/8" square punch for the smaller card.  How simple is that!  The heart on the smaller card I cut out from one of the papers, it is glittery with a stem.  The button is part of the paper, I then added a red bow.

Hope you like and I'm trying to get my act together and make more videos.  There is so much to learn about blogging and video-taping.  :-)

Snowman Thank You Card

Hi Everyone,

I am ssssoooo excited today.  With the help of my dear husband I successfully video taped my first blog video.  I can't believe I've gotten this far already and only on my second posting.  This is all thanks to my hubby.  He is having as much fun with this as I am.  I think it helps him justify my spending on crafting, tee hee!  I think you can tell I was nervous because I said, "Ah and um" way too many times.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy and please feel free to leave me comments and suggestions.
